I started reading books again after a long break
And when I say a long break, I mean 5 years or something like this - and over these 5 years I probably have read 2 or 3 books max (I actually don't remember at all).rnrnComing from a kid who used to spend all the school breaks inside the library choosing the next book to read, well, that's not alright.rnMy memories inside the library school are so clear in my mind.rnAs I spent many years studying in the same school, I basically knew almost the whole library collection.rnrnOnce I got access to the library for the first time, I didn't leave it anymore. It became my safe place inside the school - where your chances of suffering bullying become lower, where the average kids won't find you.rnrnThere were silence and many books.rnrnrnFor many years I was reading almost 1 book per day.rnGoing to school, finding a book during the 20 minutes break we had, then reading the whole book at night.rnrnNext day, all over again.rnrnOnce I found my reading gang (Sté, Michelle), we were going together to the library, every time (when we were not exploring the unknown parts of the school, of course).rnrnBooks were getting longer and longer, and one night was not enough to read all I wanted, so I started reading during the lectures, hiding it under the table.rnrnAt high school, our Portuguese Professor - Professora Roseli - invited us for the first book club I have ever been.rnrnIt was called "Conversation between friends".rnrnThat was another world to explore. A world where you read a book and you don't keep your feelings with you. You share them and hear from the others, finding out new perspectives you haven't thought about before. Good times. We also attended some Tales Club meetings, which I especially loved cause tales are so powerful. Few pages and a HUGE message in between the lines.rnrnThe Tales Club used to take place inside a creepy room of a psychiatric hospital, which massively contributed to the atmosphere of the club.rnrnThey say books change your life. I can say books definitely contributed to who I am today.rnrnrnrnNotesrnWhen I thought about this post, I wanted to talk about the books I read in the last 2 months, but my mind completely changed the topic.rnrnSo my favorite book's list will go for the next post, see you there!
