Why is me time so important nowadays?
How to find me time in a busy life? Why do you need me time? it's ok to get some time alone, especially if you are an introvert person
Believe me or not, but people struggle a lot to get some “me time”.
nn
I found out my introvert friends are running out of batteries every time they spend too much time with people and forget to recharge alone (I include myself in this group).
nn
What is me time?
nn
Personally, me time is when I am energizing myself doing things I love, completely by myself.
nn
Examples: going for a walk, biking, reading a book, blogging, planning routine, experimenting new rituals, writing, exploring Copenhagen (…) It’s a long list, I do a lot of things by myself.
nn
For other people, me time means also disconnecting from your phone and being in silence.
nn
Can be a meditation, a run, a walk, taking yourself for a solo trip.
nn
I just found many articles on Google on how to get a proper me time. Yes, there are guidelines and apparently that’s a question Google gets quite often.

How do I get me time?
nn
People struggle to find things to do when they are alone. We are used to acting in groups, to share meals, go to the cinema with someone, and tell me you, when you see someone sitting alone on the restaurant — you probably think — poor him/her, right?
nn
Wrong!
nn
These people are admirably independent.
nn
Even before my twenties, I realized I love going to cafes by myself. I love going to the cinema by myself, without a plan. And these actions recharge me A LOT.
nn
Is it ok to want some time alone?
nn
Sadly, people believe there is something wrong when they feel a need to be alone.
nn
Doesn't it sound wrong to get tired of being surrounded by people? That's what the society says. And why? Maybe because the extroverts are the majority around us? Who knows.

Why do we need me time?
nn
Well, taking myself as an example, I need a lot of time to deal with my thoughts, without interference.
nn
I love discussing ideas with people, but afterwards, all I need is some time alone to process everything and make a decision.
nn
Sometimes having the freedom of choice is all I need, without having to compromise with the person next to you.
nn
At work and family environments, we can eventually get drained by all the social decisions we make on a daily basis. They are important, they are needed, but taking some time far away from them is also healthy.
nn
After me time, I’m ready to be the best version of myself to the others. I am able to listen and give thoughtful feedback, advice, and help. Then, we can work as a team, be flexible and adapt quickly.
nn
And at some point, I will need me time again, and that’s the cycle. That’s the balance.
nn
Find yours.

(that’s useful for all kinds of people, not only introverts!)
